We are raising money to purchase covers for the NEW diving blocks. We are so thankful to finally get diving blocks like the other pools in our league. Many thanks to the City of Hiawatha for this generous purchase and installation. We would like to purchase covers for the diving blocks in order to keep them nice for many years to come. Diving block covers will be a great way for lifeguards to keep swimmers off of them during regular operations of the Hiawatha Aquatic Park, since they are ONLY used for swim team and swim meets.

We'd also like to offer a scholarship for swimmers. This scholarship will cover swim team fees but also any needed items such as swim wear, goggles, towel, etc. that the swimmer needs for practice and meets.

In years past, generous donors have made it possible to replace our lane lines, purchase a new laptop and purchase special wireless timing software, called Time Drops. Our new lane lines will be used for this summer 2026. They are beautiful! This has been amazing for our home swim meets as the wireless timers communicate with our swim team software. What was once an extremely time and labor intensive process, has become efortlessly streamlined. Our meet results are posted faster than ever! Swimmers, coaches and parents are so thankful for everyone's generous gifts!

Salaries

Hiawatha Swim Team has two head coaches and two assistant coaches.  Salaries for these coaches range from $400-599 per coach for the season.

Meets

Items such as award ribbons, paper, printer toner, lables, and entry fees are included in these costs.

Miscellaneous Expenses

These may include the sponsor banner, Hiawatha Aquatic Park fees, insurance, and administration supplies.

Scholarships

The swim team gives scholarsips to families on an as needed basis.  Swimming is a lifelong sport and skill all should have access to.  No one is turned away due to inability to pay fees.

Swimmer Fees

Swim families pay fees of $45 for an individual swimmer or $80 per family plus $10 per swimmer for insurance costs.

Sponsor Donations

We are grateful to local businesses who help sponsor our team.  Sponsors donate $100 and have their logo on our banner which is displayed at Hiawatha Aquatic Park.

Our swimmers and coaches use equipment on a daily basis including kick boards, swim bands, pool noodles, leg boards, a swim team t-shirt for each swimmer, dry erase boards and markers, or a bull horn.  Some equipment needs to be replaced from time to time.
