Specific Need

New cheer mats for athlete safety
Each 6' x 42' cheer mat costs approximately $800. Our goal is to have 9 total mats to create a full-size practice surface. We currently own 3 mats, meaning we still need 6 additional mats to safely support stunting, tumbling, jumps, and routine practice.

Safety and training equipment
Additional safety items help athletes learn proper technique and reduce the risk of injury during practices. This may include spotting blocks, crash mats, first-aid supplies, braces/wraps, ice packs, and other tools.

Competition registration fees
Competition fees are one of our largest annual expenses. Donations help give athletes the opportunity to compete, build confidence, and represent Hiawatha in a positive way without having the financial burden of these fees.

Facility and practice space needs
Due to changes with our current practice space, Hiawatha Cheer Club will need to transition to a rented facility later in the season. This creates a new expense for our program, but maintaining consistent practice space is essential for athlete safety, routine preparation, and overall program success. Donations will help offset rental costs, storage needs, and the equipment required to create a safe and productive practice environment.

Mission

Hiawatha Cheer Club is a community-supported, non-profit youth program dedicated to building strong fundamentals, confidence, teamwork, and leadership through cheer. We provide accessible opportunities for young athletes who are willing to commit, while also supporting the growth and success of all youth programs throughout our community.

Profile

As we look ahead to the future of Hiawatha Cheer Club, we are focused on building a program that is safe, sustainable, and meaningful for the athletes we serve. Now entering our fifth year, Hiawatha Cheer Club continues to provide young athletes with opportunities to learn strong cheer fundamentals, build confidence, work as a team, and proudly support their community.

In addition to practices and competitions, our athletes cheer at 5th and 6th grade home youth football games, helping create a fun and spirited game-day atmosphere. They make run-through banners, wave flags, lead cheers, and bring energy and encouragement to the sidelines for our youth football players and fans.

Funds raised through Hiawatha Community Foundation Match Days will help cover competition fees, equipment needs, facility expenses, and important safety resources that allow our athletes to train and perform with confidence. These costs can add up quickly, and community support helps make cheer more accessible for local families while giving athletes opportunities to grow in teamwork, discipline, leadership, and confidence.

Your donation is more than a gift to our program — it is an investment in Hiawatha youth. Every dollar helps us provide a positive, encouraging environment where athletes can challenge themselves, support one another, and proudly represent our community.

We also want donors to know their support will continue to benefit local cheerleading long-term. In the event Hiawatha Cheer Club is ever unable to continue operating, any remaining funds and usable equipment, after all outstanding obligations are met, will be donated to the Hiawatha High School cheer program.
